How to Create a New Sermon

Creating a new sermon in Sermonary is easy! There are two different ways to begin writing:

  1. Use our Sermonary Editor to create a message in our block-based editor.
  2. Or, write a sermon from one of our Pre-Built Templates (or use a custom template you created).

Sermonary Editor

In our Sermonary Editor, you can split your message into clean “blocks” based on what piece of material you are presenting (Bible Verse, Illustration, Quotes, etc.).

While in the Sermonary dashboard, click the blue Write New button on the upper right-hand side of your screen. Next, select the Open Editor option. From there, you’ll be directed to your new sermon.

Simply fill in the blanks with the appropriate information and press the blue Add Block button (or the small addition sign) to add your first block. Repeat this step for each block you wish to include until finished. To edit a block, simply click it.

Pre-Built Templates

The third way to write your sermon (which includes various options) is to use a pre-built template. You can create a template (view our How to Create a Custom Template FAQ page to learn how to create your own template) or use one of the six pre-built templates we’ve designed for you.

While in the Sermonary dashboard, click the blue Write New button on the upper right-hand side of your screen. Next, select the Pre-Built Templates option.

Next, select any of the six options, and you’ll be directed to your new sermon with that selected template (to use a custom template, press the dropdown arrow, select “Custom Templates,” and choose the one you made). Simply fill in the blanks with the appropriate information. You can also add or delete any blocks in a pre-built template.
